I just rocked some noob on Mario Kart DS. He was right behind me and I was holding a red shell from before, so I hit the breaks and fired my red shell of death. He crashed and I raced on to victory!

If you have a wireless router, then it should be just a few simple steps in your DS to connect to people online.

There's also a USB adapter that you can get that uses your internet connection and lets you connect wirelessly through that. Its basically a dongle, if you know what that means. They cost you $35 though, but I bet they would be worth it.

Or you could just play with people next to you, but that isn't the same as Wifi against people in New York or something.

Don't forget about hotspots like McDonalds and most coffee shops.

If you have broadband, there is a pretty good chance that you already have wireless in your house.

I think a good number of the routers and modems these days come with wireless, but I'm not sure. My shitty Qwest one did.

Yes...that is a great feeling. We had dial-up for almost 18 years. (Since my old 300baud modem). Finally got DSL...it was the first broadband available in our part of town. Then I stopped getting grief from Mrs Dood for tying up the line. Then finally Cable came into this part of town....never looked back.

We have a wireless router as well. I keep it in the basement....this way it keeps my Wireless "bubble" smaller. That is so no one can see it easily from the street.

Not as fast a 6mbs....my cable is real fast compared to DSL's 1.5K. Also with three computers online you need the extra speed.

What, you blind? I have ball of a time with me PSP - GTA is amazingly addicting, as well as Coded Arms, Ghost in the Shell, Metal Gear AC!D... All are addictingly fun games.

And wifi useless? Unless you live out somewhere up in Maine where there are NO hubs, you'll have plenty of wifi connections o_O I get it straight from my cheap Linksys wireless hub.

What I like about the PSP is that you can watch movies on it. Great for traveling! I am not going to buy one unless they get cheaper though.

All the new goodies that are "next-gen" are pretty pricey - luckily for people who don't have a portable who wants one, the holidays should bring on some good sales and package deals.

Now, I'm not sayin' go out and buy an XBOX 360 or any of that crap - that's not a great idea. NEVER buy a console on it's release date. Wait until A: the prices drop B: you're sure the system is worth it via reviews C: all the bugs are fixed in an updated version. But, for something like a PSP or DS, go ahead - just take notice of a company is in trouble or not (Cough, not to offend you fan boys, but Nintendo hasn't been doing so good since the Cube days, cough).

Nintendo is shifting its attention towards the DS and still GBA (sadly) to prepare for the Revolution. They really can do whatever they want though because their market in Japan is so gigantic.

And by fun I mean yelling tactics across the room and screaming in joy and disgust about what was going on. I've never seen a PSP user do that.

Then you're deaf AND blind o_O Also, how can you say that when you don't own one? You play with DS players, not PSP players. I've played Wipeout Pure along with Coded Arms and GTA with a few other people over wifi and had great fun. Love hearing my neighbor scream at me through the wall, calling me a cheating ass in Wipe Out because I slammed him to the side of the track.

Well like I said, until I hear it I won't believe it.

I just can't see how it will compete with any of the DS games that are coming out.

No offence, but Mario, Zelda and SSB over and over again isn't too appitising. None of the big licenses are coming out for DS and lately it shows. Sony already has Rockstar, EA, Face Punch, Naughty Dog, and Activison (although I wouldn't cheer too much about Activison, as they're settling their 3rd lawsuit).

Sure, if you're a fan of the Mario stuff by Shigrio Miyamoto, DS is for you. But if you want something new, more adult games, PSP.

More and more companies are realizing the power of the DS. Games that were usually only on the PC are starting to come out for the DS because the stylus works a lot like a cursor.

I'm not in the DS arguing kind of mood though. So it really just comes down to what you said above.

Its fun and gameplay based, with familiar characters to avoid confusion and assure people that it is a game worth buying. Throw Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, or the rest of them into a game and people will know that it is good.

My brother is getting a DS for his birthday... AND an XBOX 360!
Oh wait... I'm not done, AND a PSP.

He has to share with me.
